Alpha - Youth is a contemporary exploration of the Christian Faith that is being used by groups all around the world to help young people explore the character and claims of Jesus. Over 8, 9 or 10 weeks Alpha - Youth looks at topics from ‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why did Jesus die?’ to ‘How & why should I read the Bible?’.
It’s a more informal version of the original Alpha using the same teaching content but adapted in a way to better engage with young people. Alpha - Youth shares the same important elements as any Alpha – food, a film presentation, and small group discussions (except with a lot more fun and many more games!).
Alpha's Youth Film Series: 12 episodes – approx 20 min each – Filmed in Vancouver, London, New York, Paris, and Jerusalem. Includes 3 training sessions: How to Run Alpha, Small Groups, and Prayer Ministry. The Film Series is designed to take the weight off your shoulders and allow you to create the atmosphere, invite friends, and be fully present during each session. Every episode has breaks for discussion, and shows a variety of youth and young adults from around the world speaking their minds about faith and God. This will set the stage for honest and open dialogue.
Alpha - Youth is being used in many countries across the world, from New Zealand to Sweden; from Iceland to the USA. It is being used successfully in big churches with flourishing youth ministries; in small churches with only a handful of young people; and also in the school context particularly for transition year groups in Ireland.

Weekend/Day Away - Holy Spirit Retreat
One of the highlights of Alpha - Youth for many is the weekend or day away.
The teaching content on the weekend is about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. The weekend usually comes midway through the course, often after week 6. We strongly encourage all groups wanting to run Alpha - Youth to include this aspect of the course.
There are some great venues across Ireland to take a group away. One of the options is Scripture Union's Adventure Centre called Ovoca Manor which is situated in Avoca high above the valley floor on 21 acres of grounds. The grounds encompass river walks, forest trails and an incredible array of facilities.
